Student Report 2012 Los Angeles StateoftheCity - Julie Rios, Roosevelt High School

los angeles mayor student

My experience at The State of the City address from Paramount Studios was completely awesome. I got the chance to meet the chief Charlie Beck, had a few words with him and he gave me advice on how to be a great police officer. It was my first time attending an event like this so I was a little nervous but once I was there those feelings went away and I was really excited to meet all kinds of important people.

Knowing that the Mayor is planning a new and better way of transportation from the Orange Line in Chatsworth to the Exposition Line between Downtown and Santa Monica. Now we’ll have more transit options and it’s very economical. The Los Angeles government is getting better and with a newer public transportation a lot of Los Angeles residents will be saving gas money. I was impressed when he mentioned that 85% of jobs are being taken here in Los Angeles. On my way out of the venue I felt like a complete rockstar because I had meet all kinds of important people, it was a great experience.
